Emily Robinson - Executive Director
Emily combines her experience in program design, implementation, communications, and outreach to improve housing for working families and older adults across the Midwest. Before joining Preserving US, Emily spent a decade at Chicago-based Elevate, where she led home repair and accessibility programs for older adults and served as the organization’s Communications and Outreach Director. Emily has spent her entire career in the nonprofit space, including roles at the Center for Neighborhood Technology, the Union of Concerned Scientists, Earthjustice, and the PBS NewsHour. Emily received a Community Service Award from the Chicago Department of Housing in 2022. She holds an Executive Certificate in Home Modification from the School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California, has a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
